It’s mid-week, roll up the sleeves!
You already know your CRM is a mess. That has been true for years, and nobody lost a job over it.
What changed is who reads it.
Validity's State of CRM Data Report 2026, fielded in July across 500 B2B and B2C marketing professionals at companies with 100 or more employees and written up by martech on 28 August, found that 45% already use agentic AI that can act without human review. Sending a campaign. Scoring a lead. Personalizing an offer. Reallocating budget. Before anyone looks.
Against that: only 26% say more than three-quarters of their CRM data is accurate and complete. Only 28% are very confident their CRM gives an accurate view of campaign performance and revenue impact. And 91% say data readiness is critical for adopting AI while only 21% believe their own data is ready.
So the autonomy is being granted at roughly twice the rate the confidence justifies.
Bad data produces a bad report, and somebody reading it thinks something looks off. That person is gone from the loop in nearly half of these organizations, and the errors now leave the building as campaigns.

NUMBERS MATTER
6%. The share of respondents McKinsey classes as AI high performers, attributing at least 5% of EBIT to AI and calling the impact significant, has stayed flat at about 6% for a year.
Whatever is being automated at speed, it is not yet showing up as profit for anyone but a very small group.

DAILY PROMPT
Create a detailed Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) for my [PRODUCT/SERVICE]. I need you to develop a comprehensive profile that will guide my marketing and sales efforts.
Here's what I know about my business:
**Business Context:**
- Product/Service: [DESCRIBE WHAT YOU SELL]
- Industry: [YOUR INDUSTRY]
- Current customers: [DESCRIBE YOUR BEST CUSTOMERS]
- Price point: [YOUR PRICING TIER]
- Geographic focus: [TARGET REGIONS/COUNTRIES]
**Business Goals:**
- Primary goal: [E.G., INCREASE MARKET SHARE, EXPAND INTO NEW SEGMENT]
- Secondary goals: [ANY ADDITIONAL OBJECTIVES]
Please create an ICP that includes:
1. **Demographics**: Job title, company size, industry, revenue, location
2. **Firmographics**: Company characteristics, growth stage, technology stack
3. **Psychographics**: Values, priorities, pain points, goals
4. **Behavioral Traits**: Buying process, decision-making style, budget authority
5. **Pain Points**: Specific challenges they face that your solution addresses
6. **Success Metrics**: How they measure success in their role
7. **Buying Triggers**: What events or situations prompt them to seek solutions
Format the profile as a clear, actionable document that my sales and marketing teams can use immediately. Include specific, realistic details rather than generic descriptions.Use this when your segmentation is inherited rather than decided, which is usually the moment before an agent starts acting on it. If a model is going to score and route leads without review, the definition it scores against needs to be something a human argued about recently, not a field somebody set in 2023.
CMO CORNER
If you fix the same issue more than twice, it is a design flaw.
Every marketing team has a data cleanup story. Usually several, usually annual, usually followed by a slow return to the same state. That was survivable when the cost was a wrong dashboard. It is not, now that 45% of your peers have wired an agent to the same tables.
Running it a third time tells you the entry points are unowned. Find where the bad rows arrive, name each one, and accept that this is duller than buying another tool.
We provide consulting services for CMOs on AI strategy for marketing teams through our Teamless offering.
TOOL UPGRADE
Fix what enters the system before you let anything act on it:
Fillout — best for capturing clean, structured input at the door instead of correcting it downstream forever. Try Fillout here →
Seamless — best for enriching records against live signals rather than trusting whatever was typed in two years ago. Try Seamless here →
Close — best for teams who want the pipeline to reflect what actually happened, with the AI attached to the deal rather than the dashboard. Try Close here →
→ We have 300+ curated, filtered, and categorized AI tools in our directory. Browse to find the best ones that help your marketing team.

LEARN THIS
If you are about to grant an agent write access to anything, AI Readiness 101 is the diagnostic to run first. It is honest about the parts of an organization that are never ready, which is almost always data access and approvals rather than tooling. For the CMO who needs to know what to fix before the automation makes it expensive.

BRAND SLOP
Research Gold sells peer-review-ready medical manuscripts, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses. Its pitch to researchers is a promise: 100% human-written, never AI.
404 Media checked the team behind the promise. One group of listed methodologists does not appear to exist, with clearly AI-generated profile pictures and no publication history matching their descriptions. A second group is real people. Real academics, real credentials, no relationship with the company.
The anti-AI claim has become valuable enough to fake. That is a genuinely new development and it lands on you directly, because "no AI" is now a positioning statement your competitors may also be making.
If you are about to put that promise on your own site, be certain you can survive somebody spending twenty minutes checking it. Somebody will.
