Every agentic media pitch you sat through this year ended with a slide that said "results coming soon." One finally came.
Rouge Care sells red-light therapy devices direct to consumers. In the second quarter, it put $25,000 into connected-TV ads and attributes more than $125,000 in sales to it, a 500% return against a 250% target, senior copywriter Samuel Bonneau told Adweek. "Doubling our goal."
Now the part the headline skips. The brand did not build an agent. Its agency, Klever Programmatic, ran the campaign through PubMatic's AgenticOS, the sell-side platform's own AI. Audience discovery, buying, optimization, all handled by a bot that lives on the seller's side of the table.
So the first named, numbered agentic media win small enough to copy is also a win for the exchange that sold the inventory. Not a scandal, just programmatic with fewer people in the middle. Be clear whose agent you are congratulating.

Forecast your bank balance, not your P&L
Profit and cash are not the same thing, and Q4 is where brands find that out. DTC payouts land days late. Amazon holds reserves. Wholesale pays on terms. Inventory deposits go out long before a single unit ships.
The 13-Week Cash Flow Template is a free Excel download built on the direct method, so it forecasts the bank balance week by week instead of the accrual P&L. The timing engine handles DTC and Amazon payout delays, wholesale terms, inventory, and capex, and converts your monthly budget into a weekly view. The liquidity summary shows your lowest cash point, when it hits, how many weeks you sit below your minimum, and implied runway on average weekly burn.
It runs October 9 through January 1, so Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and year-end are already in the window.

TALK ON THE MARKET
Kieran Flanagan, formerly CMO at Zapier and SVP at HubSpot, on the question he says every marketing leader is stuck on, posted:
His definition: "A marketer who builds your AI systems (not code). They'll build context, skills, feedback loops, quality gates, MCP connections." Already posted at OpenAI and Ramp at $140K to $268K, he says.
Read that beside Rouge Care. The brand got its 5x without one of these people, because the agency and the exchange supplied the engineering. That works until the day you want to know why the agent did what it did, and the answer lives on somebody else's payroll.
NUMBERS MATTER
80%. The share of US ad spend Gartner expects to flow through self-serve platforms where AI "materially influences" buying, cost and outcomes by 2028, 70% globally. Two years. Four dollars in five.

DAILY PROMPT
You are an experienced marketing operations consultant conducting a comprehensive audit of a marketing department. Analyze the following marketing operations environment and provide a detailed assessment across eight critical dimensions.
## Department Context
- Company: [COMPANY_NAME]
- Industry: [INDUSTRY]
- Annual Marketing Budget: [BUDGET_AMOUNT]
- Team Size: [NUMBER_OF_PEOPLE]
- Current Marketing Tech Stack: [LIST_TOOLS]
- Primary Revenue Model: [B2B/B2C/HYBRID]
- Key Marketing Channels: [CHANNELS_USED]
## Audit Framework
### 1. Technology & Martech Stack
Evaluate the current martech stack for integration gaps, redundancy, and alignment with business goals. Identify tools that are underutilized or create data silos.
### 2. Process & Workflow Efficiency
Assess campaign development cycles, approval workflows, reporting processes, and handoffs between teams. Identify bottlenecks and automation opportunities.
### 3. Data & Analytics Infrastructure
Review data collection, storage, integration, and reporting capabilities. Evaluate data quality, accessibility, and whether analytics inform strategy.
### 4. Team Structure & Skills
Analyze team composition, skill gaps, training needs, and organizational alignment. Consider whether structure supports current and future business objectives.
### 5. Campaign Management & Execution
Evaluate campaign planning, resource allocation, project management practices, and execution consistency across channels.
### 6. Reporting & Measurement
Assess KPI definition, dashboard effectiveness, attribution modeling, and whether reporting drives decision-making.
### 7. Compliance & Governance
Review data privacy practices, brand guidelines enforcement, approval authority, and regulatory compliance.
### 8. Budget Allocation & ROI
Analyze budget distribution across channels, spending efficiency, ROI tracking, and alignment with business priorities.
## Deliverables Required
For each dimension, provide:
- Current State Assessment (2-3 sentences)
- Key Strengths (2-3 bullet points)
- Critical Gaps or Risks (2-3 bullet points)
- Specific Recommendations (3-4 actionable items with priority: High/Medium/Low)
- Estimated Impact (business outcome if implemented)
- Implementation Timeline (quick wins vs. 6-month initiatives)
## Output Format
Structure your response as a professional audit report with executive summary, detailed findings by dimension, consolidated recommendations prioritized by impact and effort, and a 90-day action plan.Use this before an agency or exchange proposes running your media through its agent. Rouge Care's number is real. So is the fact that the brand could not produce the log of how it happened.
CMO CORNER
Let your team own their process. You own the environment.
This week, the environment is the log. An agent bought the ads, the agency ran the agent, the exchange owns the agent, the brand owns the invoice. Let your team try every one of these arrangements.
Your job is to decide, before any starts, what record must exist afterward, who can read it, and what happens when it shows a decision nobody can explain. Then the process can change every quarter without asking you.
We provide consulting services for CMOs on AI strategy for marketing teams through our Teamless offering.

BRAND SLOP
Suno makes AI music. Its new ad showed Mary J. Blige in a studio, guiding a producer building a track in her style, apparently endorsing the thing her industry is suing over.
She had approved none of it. Suno told The Hollywood Reporter it had "entered into a business deal with someone who presented themselves as Ms. Blige's official representative," learned that was false, learned she was uncomfortable, and terminated the campaign.
Read the statement for what it admits. An AI company built a campaign on the premise that artists love it and did not check whose signature was on the contract. The talent chain is a supply chain, and this one had a stranger in it.
You are not going to run an ad with a Grammy winner this year. You are going to sign something with an agency, a creator or a platform this month, and the question is the same. Who, exactly, is on the other end of the deal? Suno found out from the press.
